Natural Colour Workshop - Winter Edition - Daytime
Focusing on home grown botanicals that have been dried throughout the year, we will explore the potential of working with flowers and plants to achieve an array of winter colours, darker and deeper hues , think greens, reds and purples onto luxurious pieces of silk and plant based fabric to become wrapping cloths, gifts and ribbons.

Ffion Taverner is joining us at The Floristry School hosting a Natural Colour Workshop to get you ready for Christmas.
Ffion is an artist who specialises in Natural Dyes who has spent a year travelling through Latin America learning about Cochineal dye in Oaxaca, weaving in Guatemala and learning about the local natural dye plants on plant-based fibres.
Having spent time in El Salvador immersing herself in the country's largest organic Indigo farm learning in depth from seed through to pigment.
She is returning eager to share her newly found knowledge with this being the first workshop upon her return.
We will explore different methods of making, creating imprints and stains onto fabric, using the bundle dye technique as well as immersion dyeing. This will be an explorative session encouraging experimentation, it will be a space to understand the potential magic of natural colour and sustainable practices.
